ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

  • The Department of Roganidan evum VikṛtiVigyan forms the cornerstone of Ayurvedic clinical science. It focuses on the systematic understanding of Nidāna (etiology), Pūrvarūpa (prodromal symptoms), Rūpa (clinical features), Saṃprāpti (pathogenesis), and Upadrava (complications) of diseases as described in classical Ayurvedic texts, while correlating them with contemporary diagnostic concepts. The department trains students to develop sharp diagnostic skills, sound clinical reasoning, and a holistic approach to disease assessment by integrating DaśavidhaParīkṣā, AṣṭavidhaParīkṣā, TrividhaParīkṣā, and modern investigative tools.

VISION :

  • To nurture competent Ayurvedic physicians with strong diagnostic acumen, capable of understanding disease from its root cause to its complete pathogenesis, and applying this knowledge forethical, holistic, and evidence-based patient care.

MISSION :

  • To impart in-depth knowledge of classical Roganidān principles.
  • To integrate Ayurvedic diagnostic methods with modern investigative sciences.
  • To cultivate analytical thinking and clinical confidence in students
  • To promote research and documentation in Ayurvedic pathology.

AIMS :

  • To enable students to understand diseases through Ayurvedic principles of Doṣa, Duṣya, Srotas, Agni, and Ojas.
  • To develop the ability to identify disease at early and reversible stages through proper Nidāna and Pūrvarūpa analysis.
  • To bridge classical Roganidān concepts with modern pathology and diagnostics for better clinical correlation.
  • To lay a strong foundation for clinical subjects and therapeutic decision-making.

OBJECTIVES :

  • To impart thorough knowledge of NidānaPañcaka and its clinical application.
  • To train students in systematic case taking and disease classification.
  • To develop skills in SaṃprāptiGhaṭaka analysis for accurate diagnosis.
  • To familiarize students with laboratory investigations and imaging relevant to Ayurvedic diagnosis.
  • To encourage research-oriented thinking in Ayurvedic pathology and disease prevention.
  • To promote understanding of preventive, predictive, and personalized medicine in Ayurveda.
